Great Support to ASAŞ's BATEG Program from TUBITAK 1004 Center of Excellence

ASAŞ, one of the leading industrial enterprises in Turkey, was entitled to funding under the TUBITAK 1004 Center of Excellence Support Program with the Battery Technologies Research and Development Platform for Electric Vehicles (BATEG) program, of which it is a part of the consortium. With the project, it is aimed to create high-tech platforms in cooperation with the private sector and research infrastructures of higher education institutions for battery electric vehicles, which are increasing in demand all over the world.

ASAŞ continues to offer its expertise and knowledge in the sector to the service of Turkey. Within this framework, ASAŞ took part in the consortium of the “Battery Technologies Research and Development Platform for Electric Vehicles (BATEG)” program, where innovative battery pack design and prototype manufacturing for domestic electric vehicles will be carried out. BATEG, which has been working on since January 2022, became one of the first programs to be eligible for funding under the TUBITAK 1004 Center of Excellence Support Program.

ASAŞ R&D Center, which has been registered as the first R&D center in the sector, will develop aluminum alloy with the ability to be combined by friction mixing welding method within the scope of BATEG, which will last for 4 years. Dec.10.Dec.10.dec.10.dec.10. dec. 10. dec. 10. dec. Within the framework of the project, studies will be carried out at the ASAŞ R&D Center according to different process parameters. Dec. Aluminum Profile, Composite Panel, PVC R&D Manager Görkem Özçelik Dec.Z in process and alloy design studies.Passion Attention, alloy development studies I.Artunç Yellow and A.Kağan Kınacı, Alptuğ Tanses in process development studies and Tolgahan Çalı in product design studies will be assigned. Within the scope of the project, which will serve as a reference for innovative battery technologies, technical information that is not available in Turkey on energy storage and management, transportation technologies will also be obtained.

With the increasing demand for battery electric vehicles all over the world, the use of high technology in the automotive sector is gaining importance. It is aimed to create high-tech platforms by transferring the products/ technologies developed in cooperation with the research infrastructures of the private sector and higher education institutions to the private sector.

Besides ASAŞ, stakeholders from the private sector, public institutions and universities such as Coşkunöz Metal Form, Coşkunöz Mold Machine, TUBITAK RUTE, TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Eskişehir Technical University take part in the BATEG consortium, of which Bursa Uludağ University is the coordinator. A total of 104 people from the relevant departments of all stakeholders will work in the project.
